Cloudscape Floor ProcessA full-stage cloudscape for Tammy Faye's Final Audition. Painted off-site, then dismantled, delivered & installed for show run. Estimated work time: 30 hrs. | Inlaid marble floorFull stage inlaid marble floor pattern for "1984." Technique used a 3 color large scale paint spatter technique with a Hudson sprayed water and denatured alcohol displacement. Approximated solo work time: 18 hrs. | Calling All Kates Floor ProcessAbstract runway floor. Wet blend gradient base, abstract rolled geometry, Hudson spray gradient overlay, finished with perspective linework. | Marble ProcessFull-stage marble staircase unit for Santa Fe Opera's "Die Fledermaus." Process included 8ft pounce stencil patterns for consistency, sword strip brush veining, sponge & feature brushed detail, and many layers of ultra smooth high gloss varnish finish. | Percival von Schmootz Floor ProcessFloor treatment for 'The Enlightenment of Percival von Schmootz." The technique involved an intricate 3-color parquet pattern, and was based in a realistic texture coat in the matching pattern. | Floor ProcessParquet, tile, and hardwood planking process for "In The Next Room." Parquet floor involved base texture (in pattern) with 3 color wood finish. Pattern was broken down from reference for elevation using Adobe Illustrator. Tile work used 1/8" painters tape to mask the grout, and included a high gloss "ceramic" texture finish using denatured alcohol patina. | Wood Plank Floor28 sheets of masonite were pre-painted in various distressed wood textures, then cut down and installed on stage for "Twelfth Night." This Is Horror!! BillboardLooming above the Skid Row flower shop in Little Shop of Horrors, this 6x18' B-movie billboard served as a backdrop for song & dance sequences through the show. Estimated solo work time: 18 hrs. | Little Shop Exterior Wall ProcessDesigned to mimic the black & white illustrative style of the original B-Movie, full-scale brickwork was painted to look like graphite sketches. Set included matching techniques on solid & transparent scrim walls. |
